Can an Alert be setup to notify for errors within batch job log?

Hi all,

For our Dynamics Finance and Operations solution we are automating the creation of Purchase orders from Sales orders using a recurring batch job. I am currently investigating whether there is a way to setup an Alert for when an error is logged in a batch job in batch job history. It is simple enough to setup an Alert for when a batch job ends in error, but being a recurring job it resets to status waiting after running and presumably some success means it won't end in error.

If this function is not present within FinOps, does anyone have any suggestions on how we might monitor for errors in multiple batch jobs without having to check histories individually?

Hi Edmund Fearon,

Click on your job ID, then click on "Save job to history" and change the value to "Errors only", alerts will be sent only if the job was unsuccessful.

You can use Power Automate for that. You trigger a Power Automate event when there is a batch job error.
