Hello Experts,

We would like to stop users not deleting the source file once they have completed the custom business rules in CRM 2011. I have tried following options but I couldn’t find solution:

1. Plugin on Import message, but it is not firing the event. Then I googled it and found that it is not working for others too. Please refer the link given below.
https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/180145

2. Show/Hide “Delete Import Source File” ribbon based on custom business rules in imports.
I have created a solution and added “Application Ribbons” and open in Ribbon Workbench tool. But I couldn’t find it.

I don’t prefer to implement it On-Delete event of entity. It is impacting the performance.

Also we are planning to upgrade to CRM 2016.

Plugin on Import message is it working in CRM 2015 or 2016?
Is it possible to disable the view page in imports?
It would be helpful if you could share your idea and suggestion regarding this?

Thank you for your quick response Aric.

Users should not have option to not delete an import file for specify entity(Test1) only. We don’t want to restrict for other entities.

    Hi,

Unless I am misunderstanding your requirement, why not prevent users from deleting the Source file by using Security Role privileges.

There are two privileges that you can use to set the requirements that you have (both on the Core tab):

Data Import and Import Source File

Make sure the Delete privilege is not enabled for them (based on your requirements).

Let me know if this helps.
