Why copying a case id or case number is disabled on Dynamics 365?

It is very annoying to disable copying as we need to copy case it onto email I don't want to export the entire list of cases.  I found this ridiculous to disable copying feature on dynamics 365.

    Hi,

If you are referring to Copy a link then yes it is disabled and based on below blog it is due to cross browser compatibility. You can red b=more about this here-

    community.dynamics.com/.../tip-492-whatever-happened-to-the-copy-a-link-button

However you can still copy the case number if you want that only-

Select the case number and instead of right click, press ctrl +c to copy...This should work.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

This is because when you right click in the list its opened grid internal window and its not a default windows browser window. I think its good to have a copy link there , you can put your ideas here -

    https://experience.dynamics.com/ideas/

Meanwhile I would also suggest to use CTRL+C after selecting the the number and then CTRL+ V where you need paste which already suggested Ravi above.

For the ID you can still use 'email a link' and just copy the ID there?

    Thank you all for replying.

I hope selection of any field on dynamics 365 should be allowed without too much effort.
