D365 F&O provides 3 exchange rate provider's service as Out-of-the Box feature.

Is  the life long service of Central Bank of Europe & Central Bank of Russian Federation free?? or Is there any hidden subscription charges associated with it.

I know that OANDA rates requires subscription fees.

Appreciate the responses!!!

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Venkatramansethu1149,

The European central bank and Russian Central bank providers are free but they are limited in the exchange rate pairs they provide exchange rates for.

If you need more than what they offer, have a look at some free exchange rate providers first before spending a lot of money for OANDA.

Some time ago, I created a video that illustrates how you can import exchange rates for free with the help of the PowerPlatform.

    Please see: dynamicsax-fico.com/.../

Maybe that is an alternative for you and can help you saving some money.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Venkatraman,

You also sent me a private message via LinkedIn. I'm glad Ludwig provided the same answer. Indeed the currency pairs are limited at least within the service of the Central Bank of Europe. I have no experience with the exchange rates from the Russian Central Bank.

In the past, I have seen that there are more free services in several other countries. Most of the times only the most common currencies. In some implementations the Exchange rates from Bloomberg were used. They covered almost all currency pairs.

You have to verify if some of the free services are suitable for you. The Central Bank of Europe has the Euro as main currency. If you have e.g. ZAR as accounting currency, you can't use the service from the Central Bank of Europe without performing cross rate calculations.

    Hi Venkatramansethu1149 ,

I am using OANDA in US and it is costly with limited API calls in a day so better to use European central bank as suggested by Ludwig and Andre.
