D365FO WHS Cluster Picking – Target License Plate Overwritten by Source License Plate

Hello WHS Experts

We are using Cluster Picking in D365 Finance & Operations Warehouse Management.

Scenario

  1. Before starting cluster picking, the operator scans and assigns the target license plates (physical reusable totes/blue boxes) to the cluster.
  2. These target license plates are stored on the warehouse work as the Target LP.
  3. During picking, the operator picks inventory from a source location that is license-plate controlled. Mobile device menu item is set with "Override Target license Plat" = No
  4. When the pick consumes the last quantity and the source location becomes empty, the system automatically replaces the existing Target License Plate with the Source License Plate from the emptied location.

Business Requirement

If a Target LP has already been assigned to the work, we want the system to retain the original Target LP throughout the entire cluster-picking process. The source LP from an emptied location should not overwrite an already assigned target LP.

Question

  • Is there any configuration, warehouse parameter, work template option, location directive setting, or mobile device menu item parameter that prevents this overwrite?

Example

  • Cluster Tote A = LP BLUE001
  • Source LP = LP12345
  • Operator picks the last quantity from LP12345
  • Location becomes empty

Expected Result
Target LP remains BLUE001

Actual Result:
Target LP is changed to LP12345

    Good day,

Can you check whether the parameter "Override license plate during put" is set to "Yes"?

    Best regards,
    Laurens van der Tang
