Unable to include measures created in Customer Insights Data in Journeys

I am trying to pull in the measures I created within Customer Insights - Data into Customer Insights - Journeys so that I can use the different measures for segmentation and branching conditions. 
 
As I understand it, whatever customer measures I create will be saved to a 'Customer measures' table.
 
When I try to connect the Customer Measures table to CI-Journeys I receive this error "The following tables cannot be added because: the table may be 5 hops away from the target audience. One or more tables in the path leading to CustomerMeasure might be missing from the Related Tables section".
 
How do I go about correcting this?


Edit:
I realised that this warning might be due to a error in the connection between Customer Insights - Data and Journeys. When I tried to connect the 2 platforms together I get this error message "There was a problem setting up the Customer Insights - Data connection. Check the settings and try again."

What settings do I check here and how do I rectify this problem?
And is the inability to add the Customer Measures table to Journeys due to the connection error between Data and Journeys?
