Where can I find the process that creates a contact on registration through a customer portal?

Hi,

I'm trying to find the process that creates the contact when a new Portal Registration is received. I have been unable to find a process within the process section in the dynamics Settings.

I want to be able to determine which contact has been created from registering through the portal so that I can create an alert / case when it happens to notify the team to do something about it. (validate the registration for example)

Is there a way to get to this process or to identify the contacts? So far all I have seen is that i can filter by contacts owed by the system?

Thanks

Oliver

    Hi partner,

This process is not a system job in D365, actually it will call a web server when we register a new contact from portal.

If you want to identify which contact comes from portal, there's another field named "username" in the portal form of contact which can more accurately represent the source of the contact. If this field contains value, so this contact comes from portal.

    For example:

    From portal.

    pastedimage1581479730427v1.png

    From D365

    pastedimage1581479816148v2.png

So if you want to notify the team to do something when a contact has been created from the portal, you could put this field on the contact main form and create a workflow triggered when contact is created and if this field contains data, then do something in your workflow.

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards,

    Leo

    Hi Leo,

Thank you for this answer, this gives me everything that I needed to be able to work with the system, as it is, out of the box. I found that I could also just create a new form that created a new entity and work it that way but I much prefer not to build custom entities if I can help it.

    Kind Regards

    Oliver
