Hi Every one,

I am planning to upgrade my gp 2010 to gp 2013.My GP 2010 version is 11.00.2197.I have all the hot fixes and service packs in place.

I have two options in mind.

1.Install the service pack for gp 2013, then install the gp 2013 rtm and finally I run utility to upgrade my gp 2010 data.

2.Install gp 2013 rtm,then the service pack for gp 2013 and finally I run utility to upgrade my gp 2010 data.

which option is correct?.

can I put  gp 2013 R2 latest release (MicrosoftDynamicsGP12-KB2949693-ENU.msp) or it has issues?.

    Yes. You can install RTM and then R2 service pack before you run the GP utilities.

    Note: If you want the R2 DVD for GP 2013 you can download it from below link.

    Hope this helps!!!

    @Mahmoud,My current gp is (MicrosoftDynamicsGP11-KB2853389-ENU.msp)

    which is of higher version than the service pack you proposed.

    @Soma...I get your point clearly,currently I dont have the full DVD that has GP 2013 R2 but I have GP2013 RTM and hot fix MicrosoftDynamicsGP12-KB2949693-ENU.msp for gp 2013 R2,can I proceed by installing my GP 2013 RTM and then R2 service pack before I run utilities or it a must that I have GP 2013 R2 DVD?.

    Once you have migrated/moved your SQL server GP data from old server to new server with help of the KB article 878449, you need check your GP upgrade path (I think your GP version already met the upgrade path for GP 2013). Now directly install the GP 2013 R2 and run the GP utilities to upgrade your current GP system to GP 2013 R2.

    Hope this helps!!!

    Hello Romryan

    Have you considered the upgrade path provided by Microsoft ? It states to go as follows;

    • Install hot fix 2821395.
    • Then you can proceed with Dynamics GP 2013 installation, and R2 accordingly

    Please revise the reference as well:

    1. Upgrading to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013

    2. Hotfix rollup 2821395 is available for the English (ENU) version of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010
