Dynamics CRM data export service option missing from menu site map although solution is installed and working.

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

The menu option for the data export service is missing from our menu site map.  Can someone please give me the settings to add it back on using the site map editor?

Thank you.

It's quite common for things to go missing from the navigation when importing solutions that overwrite it.

To add it back you'll need to add a SubArea using the XrmToolbox Sitemap editor:

    Id:export_ExporterConfiguration

    Icon:$webresource:export_ExporterAppIcon

    Url: $webresource:export_ExporterAppHost.html

    Title: Data Export

Remember if you ever want to delete the Export Service you'll need to remove this link from the unmanaged layer.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Andreas,

Yes. It is configured and still working but the option has disappeared from the menu and I need to modify the export profile and add some new entities.

    Thanks

Have you ever had this option in the site map / navigation before in your system?

    Check prerequesites:

    technet.microsoft.com/.../mt744592.aspx

The entities that will be added to the Export Profile must be enabled with change tracking. To ensure a standard or custom entity can be synchronized go to Customization > Customize the System, and then click the entity. On the General tab make sure the Change Tracking option under the Data Services section is enabled.

You must have the System Administrator security role in the instance of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (online).
