Updating Default Pane and Default Tab Using MS SQL

Hi all,

I have a large number of users that I want to update their Default Pane & Default Tab, the concept I used was to update CRM database. I was able to locate the table responsible for storing all these data but the updated values are not being populated in the UI (CRM DB: Table name: UserSettingBase, Fields: HomepageArea & HomepageSubarea). Please note that I am using CRM 2013 Service Pack 1 (SP1) (6.1.0.581) (DB 6.1.0.581). Can you please help me finding a solution for this issue.

Thanks,

Joe

    Hey Joe;

    Although I don't have a solution for you; I did want to chime in and make sure your aware that doing something like this could make you unsupported by Microsoft. Updating the database directly is a big no no.

    Hey Jason,

    Thanks for making me aware of this point, I thought that this is the only solution since I have large number of users.

    Joe,

    you may achieve the same by using "User Settings Utility" available in XRMToolBox (github.com/.../XrmToolBox) instead updating anything in the SQL database.

    Milind is right the Toolbox might be useful in this case. Always check the XRMToolbox as it's slick.
