PC Charge Uninstall

We've removed PC Charge from a POS station.  When I click on properties for a customer I get a popup that RMS is trying to install PC Charge.  I don't know why PC Charge is hooked into RMS still.  Any ideas?

Thanks!

Did you tell RMS that you are no longer using PCC?

    Jeff,

Thanks for your answer!  They are still using PC Charge, we just moved it to another computer.  So RMS is set to use PC Charge but it is on a remote computer not the local one.  It is the local one that had PC Charge previously.

I hope that clarifies the situation.

    Thanks again!

To be honest, the PCC+RMS is long past PCI compliance.

They sign an annual agreement stating that they are in PCI compliance when they are not.  If they are breached and found not in compliance, they are subject to court judgments and fines from VISA/MasterCard/AMEX.

The link between the programs is a simple text file that if malware was installed on the machine, it could easily read and transmit the credit card info to the bad guys.

You need to move them to another way to allow access to their processor.  Look at the built-in TSYS connector within RMS as a starting point.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

I would recommend contacting PCCharge for assistance, and it appears that the hooks that integrate PCCharge into RMS are still present.

And as for the PCI compliancy, RMS maintains PCI compliancy, included being audited for it, on Feature Pack 2.

While the latest version of both RMS and PCCharge are PCI compliant, as the two programs are not tested when used in conjunction, PCI compliancy is not verified.

RMS maintains PCI compliancy when using the preferred Acquirer that is included with RMS. To use Preferred Acquirer, you will need to be with a processor what is on the TSYS (formally the Visa Vital Pay) network.

    Thank you,
