Power BI on Homepage - GP2018

Hello,

I trust that you are all well.

I have a new install of GP2018.

I have installed and configured Power BI Report Server and Desktop.

I made sure that i have the correct URL and was able to register the app via the Power BI Registration Tools.

I have made sure that I am able to connect to the POWER BI site from the URL and i am able to view the reports.

I made sure that I can restart the report server.

I am logged in as Administrator.

I have restarted my machine several time.

I then go into GP > I go to Customize this page > I select Power BI > I click on the Blue Arrow to open the Power BI Details screen.

I do not see any of my reports and i get a message "Unable to connect to the Power BI Site. Contact your System Administrator"

Any ideas what else I can try and how to resolve this please?

Regards,

Jay

    Hello Jay,

What we often see is that users will try to select the entire Power BI report which won't show in Dynamics GP as it is only looking for individual objects of the Power BI reports.

You just need to go into the Power BI site, go into your My Workspace > My Reports and select a report.

In the report, there will be individual sections or objects and in the upper right-hand corner of the object, will be a pin icon. Click that pin, and then that section of the report should then become available for selection in the Power BI part of the Home Page in Dynamics GP.

Let me know if you have any questions on what I mentioned here.

    Thank you,

    Hello Derek,

Thank you very much for this.

I did click on the BLUE ARROW and not on the SELECT ALL when I wanted to add the reports to the home page.

I did follow your instructions though and I have managed to now get the reports to be available in my home page.

    Again,

Thank you very much for your assistance and guidance on this.

    Regards,

    Jay
