MOP/SOP Link

The client is on GP2013 (1538) SP2. They enter a sales order for a finished good and put the entire amount on Back Order. They then use the MOP/SOP link and create a MO. The issue is when they schedule the MO they are getting the error below , click ok, then we get the next error. The start date is greyed out and we keep getting a date from the past 9/7/2011. I have checked everywhere and don't know where it is getting the date or why it is giving the error. I did check the work center to be sure it had an effective date.

Thanks,

Joe Critchlow

    RE: MOP/SOP Link

Thank you for the response. I had checked the effective date before I posted. and it was a really old date, I updated it to a current data and it asked me if I wanted to create a new record. All required fields are setup on the router. I am not seeing on the BOM were you select a routing as the primary routing.

Thank you for your response. I checked both the Shop Calendar and the Work Center calendar and found no issues. I am not getting when I open the Work Center calendar that referenced "The Global Calendar for your organization has not been created, and the default work center calendar cannot be used in its place."

    RE: MOP/SOP Link

    Hi Joe,

Just to add to valuable suggestions made by Harry.  Please note the following.

    1) Please select the work center which you used on your routing on the following window

Manufacturing >> Cards >> Work Centers >> Setup

and check whether the effective date(below the display date) field is filled if not please give a date and save it.

    2) On the routing please check whether all the required fields is filled in.

The above should fix the first error message.  If you still get the error again please create a new routing with new work center and use the new routing as primary routing for the BOM.

The second error is just warning message since you transfer a SOP to MOP the start date will come from SOP and if that date is old date this start date has passed message will popup but you can continue work on the same.   Please try this and let me know

    RE: MOP/SOP Link

    Joe,

There are two separate but related Calendars to set up in Dynamics GP Manufacturing:

Manufacturing > Setup > System Defaults > Calendar (Shop Calendar Window)

Manufacturing > Cards > Work Centers > Calendar (Work Center Calendar Window)

Settings you choose when defining the shop calendar will be the default settings for your work centers. However, after you create work centers, changes to the shop calendar won’t be reflected in existing work center calendars. use the Shop Calendar when you’re initially setting up your company, but use work center calendars to make day-to-day adjustments.

The paragraph above is an excerpt from the setup guide for Manufacturing.

That being said, there can be a problem with setting up your Shop Calendar, which typically generates the following error when you open your Work Center Calendar window: "The global calendar for your organization has not been created, and the default work center calendar cannot be used in its place."

There is a simple fix to this problem; running the following SQL Script in your company database.

    __________________________

    INSERT INTO DD020000

    VALUES (0,0)

The message I am getting is "Your Manufacturing Order Routing has errors: either a workcenter is not defined or the earliest workcenter effective date is in valid. I click ok and get the second message "The start date for this manufacturing order has passed"
