Manufacturing - different location for every step of production

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if someone had problem similar to mine and maybe could give me some advice:

- My client has 10 locations that corresponds to different steps/operations in production proces. It means that BOM components have to be transferred to specific location from main warehouse, or sub-products have to be receipt to and consumed from specific location.

In production order I can change locations manually and it works. But it will be difficult to change locations for all 1500 components and sub-products.

I would like to plan production order that will have proper locations indicated for BOM components and plan transfer orders/purchase orders based on it (in planning worksheet or requisition worksheet).

I know that I have to do customization. But maybe someone know how to solve this problem?

Thanks,

Paulina

    Hi

You can check Production Routing in Navision.

    Check folllowing link

    Hi,

thanks, but in Routing operations there is no location codes, so I can not link operation+location+items.

But I think that I have to add this field and write a code that will handle the rest.

    Regards,

    Paulina

    Hi

You can create location as work center and add in routing with type as Work Center

If Routing is different for any item then you can define as many as routing and attached to item card

    Hi,

so I have created work centers like my locations and indicated Location code in Work center card.

I have made Routing with operations made by my work centers.

I linked operations with items from BOM by Routing link code.

But when I created production order - all components in BOM and operations in routing have the same location (from production order header), not locations indicated in Work center cards.

    Best regards,

    Paulina
