Number Sequence Voucher nr missing

Hi guys,

I have created a number sequence and associate it to the general journal. The formated number sequence is A17######. I have selected continous as a option with 1 as my smallest possible value and 999999 as the highest. By looking back at some general journals that i posted I realized that i saw that one number A17000080 is missing. By looking at the journals it jumped over the following ver.nr. Why is that? Why is the ver.no missing?

    Hi Tony,

Such gaps might occur if users create a journal line, fill some values and delete the line later again. Tho is usually not an issue as the unused numbers will be used later in the future once the number sequence pending numbers are cleared (either by batch or manual)

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

I thought of the same thing that some user created a journal line with some values and deleted it. But the problem is that the voucher number is still missing, the unused number A17000080 can´t be found anywhere. I have looked at the voucher transaction, ledger transaction list but can´t see that the number has been used when posting a journal.

    Best regards

    Tony

    Hi Tony111,

Can you open the Organisation admin module and there the number sequence form?

Please search for your number sequence and try to identify the status list button.

If you click this button a form should open that shows 'hanging' and unused voucher numbers. Your number should be there.

To make it available again, simply delete the record in the status list form with Alt+F9.

The next time a voucher is created this number should be reused.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
