Item Allocation Inquiry always 0 for SOP ordered pushed into SQL

Hello,

We are developing a custom web app (MVC 4 C#) that allows customers to order parts.  Currently to create the orders in GP 10 we are pushing data directly into SQL, creating or updating rows in the following tables:

SOP10100 (write - single row order header)

SOP10200 (write - multi row order line items)

IV00102 (update - add BO or Allocations to sites)

SOP10102 (write - multi row GL distributions)

SOP10105 (write - single row tax info)

SOP10106 (write - single row User Def data)

SOP10202 (write - multi row line comments)

We have a legacy app that has been creating orders this way for years.  For the most part everything seems to work OK.  However there is one oddity where ordered parts have allocations reflected on the sales document and in the inventory sites/quantities but shows a 0 allocation in Allocation Inquiry.

Anyone know why this might be happening?  Occasionally our returns process is hung up due to allocation issues messing up the qty available to transfer.  We are thinking this might be a root cause of this.

Thank you.

What happens if you run a reconcile after importing transactions?  Are the allocations reset?

Hmm excellent question.  I'll test this right away.

I don't run the routines but recently found out that our inventory reconciles may not have been finishing due to running extremely slowly.  I've just talked to the person who does run them and apparently running it from a client machine rather than the server seems to fix that issue.

Forgot that was an issue and if the reconcile does fix the allocations then I think that will be a viable solution to the problem.

After some testing over the weekend Reconcile did seem to clear this up.

    Thanks!
