service pack install and roll back

hello everyone.

 

i have microsft dynamic service pack 4 to install on my server and also on my client pc. but before i began i want to ask someone what is the roll back procedure if something goes wrong in installation of the service pack how do i put the old setting back. or is there a uninstall of the service pack? can some one please help me.

     Hi Altaf,

    You've actually posted to the Dynamics SL forum area, instead of the Dynamics GP forum, but I've received an answer back from the GP support team (it would actually the same for Dynamic SL). Hope this helps:

    There is no roll back or uninstall functionality.  To remove the Service Pack would involve uninstalling the GP client and installing anew with the original build.
    From the SQL database side, the Dynamics GP databases would need to be restored from backup created prior to the service pack being applied.

    I want to install Service pack 4 for Dynamic GP 10 and before installing i am wondering if there is a procedure to roll back or do uninstall just incase something goes wrong.

    Hi Altaf,

     Thank you for posting to the OTC.

    Can you please verify which Dynamics product you are installing? Are you installing the Dynamics SL product? Or are you installing FRx or CRM maybe?  Dynamics SL product does not currently have a Service Pack 4.
