Hi

We need to create a new sandbox for a new developer. Is there an easy way to just copy the production environment as a Sandbox for that dev?

Thanks

Louise

Yes you can copy a prod environment in powerplatform admin center to sandbox environment.

To copy the Dynamics CRM production environment to a sandbox environment, you can follow these steps:

    1. Backup the production environment.

    2. Create a new sandbox environment: Log in to your pp admin center and create a new sandbox environment. Make sure to choose the appropriate configuration for your needs.

    3. Restore the backup to the sandbox environment: Use the Restore option in the pp admin center to restore the backup to the sandbox environment. This will copy the data from the production environment to the sandbox environment.

    4. Configure the sandbox environment: After the restore is complete, you need to configure the sandbox environment to match the production environment. This includes setting up customizations, workflows, plugins, and other components.

    5. Test the sandbox environment: Once the configuration is complete, test the sandbox environment to make sure that everything is working as expected. If you find any issues, make sure to fix them before proceeding.

Hi, I have recently restored production to a sandbox environment for a new Developer. It will restore the data but the issue is that all existing solutions in Sandbox environment will be overridden as per production and all solutions will become managed.

I raised Microsoft Ticket and been informed that it is an expected behaviour. (No way to restore just database or solutions remain unmanaged). Finally ended up Copy from another Dev environment.
