Sales Order entry requires cusotmer purchase order

GP 2010 -

When I enter a new order for a customer, I cannot save the order until I enter a/the customer's Purchase Order number; the system will flag me with a "beep" and a dialogue box that says I must enter one.

However, other people are not experiencing this (nor I suspect the dialogue box that says the Purchase Order number entered is a duplicate).

How can I ensure that ALL people entering orders receive this "beep" and dialogue box?  I cannot find any information on it.

Thank you,

Pam

Ah yes, that would explain it.

In order for the other users to have the same functionality, the PSTL product would need to be included in their dynamics.set files.

    Best regards,

    Ian.

    Ian,

Thank you for the information - it set me on the correct path.

There are no third party modifications, however I have figured something out ....

As one of the dbAdmin for Dynamics, I have the PSTL installed on my personal computer, but other users, including Order Entry do not.

Now with GP 2010 PSTL there is the option for Customer PO Validation (setup)....would this be why the warning flashes for me (because I have PSTL)? Would OE have to have this installed on their personal computer in order for the warning message to flash for them?  Should it not be across the board?

    Please advise.

Hi, this looks like a modification to th standard GP SOP Entry window.

First thing I would look at is your dynamics.set file - and see if there is a third part product in there. This will give you a clue. (Best way is to launch GP and click on Tools >> Setup >> System >> Edit Launch File....there will be a number of products listed here - Dynamics will be the first - look for something that is not rcognisable as a standard GP module/product)

You need to compare your security settings to those of other users - specifically to do with Alternate Dynamics Windows.

When you open your SOP window -is there a full stop (period) at eithre the beginnng or end of the window title (Sales Transaction Entry) or is your version of the window in any way ifferent from what the others are seeing?

Of course if you have a GP partner, best to ask them as they probably know whats going on.

    Best regards,

    Ian.
