Work Order Invoice Products changed to write-in

Posted on by 2,909

Does anyone have this issue where Existing Products that are in a Work Order when invoiced show as a write-in product so it doesn't then have all of it's attributes such as description etc for merging to templates. Below is an image after you double click on the Product from the Invoice showing as a write-in which explains why the OOB Invoice template doesn't render as expected.

RE: Work Order Invoice Products changed to write-in

The answer back from Microsoft is that it's by design due to the relationships between Products and Work Order products.

I haven't had time to have a look in detail however it seems like a poor design that is due to build constraints.

Have service request with Microsoft was able to replicate on the technicians Tennant and he agreed shouldn't be by design awaiting feedback from back end Team.

Adding existing products to the work order invoice after it's created show as existing products as expected.

It's hard to find information on Field Service as the SDK only has IoT really for Field Service. The other issue is since the process to create these OOB entities are system type so as far as I'm aware you con't drill down into the processes to see whats happening.

Any ideas if this is as expected or possibly a bug?
