Dimension Value already exists

Hello,

I created a blank company and I tried uploading Dimension and Dimension Values using a configuration package.

However, when I upload the table i get the message that the value already exists. I can get around this by deleting the table record before processing.

Can anyone explain why i get this error in the first place and how I can avoid this in the future?

Hi

You have been able to check if that value already exists in the dimension table, the message indicates that it already exists and you cannot upload it again.

Hi gdrenteria,

The company was a new blank company and i checked and the dimensions where blank. But i still got the error?

It’s indeed strange that the configuration package modifies data even when the dimensions are already present.

Have you tried importing data using the Excel sheet? - do this and check

I recommend creating a new blank company and testing the upload there.

This can help you determine if the issue is specific to your current setup or if it persists across different environments.

At what point in the process did you take the screenshot? In the screenshot the dimensions are already loaded in the system, and you're trying to load them again:

Hi Valentin,

The screen shot was after my first attempt at loading the dimensions. Previously there was nothing loaded, it was a blank company

It appears that BC loaded the dimensions and then gave me the error that the dimensions already exists.

It seems that BC is trying to load the data twice and then giving the error??

Hello INITMAN,

Do you have any customizations for Dimension Value?

I tried exporting table:349 and importing back the same file and there is no error.
