parameter does not exist on this report

Posted on by 85

Hi,

I have a server with 2 AOS running, a DEV and a TEST. Today I exported a SSRS report and the accompanying Visual studio project from DEV and imported it to TEST. I then compiled and deployed the report in TEST.

When I then tested the SSRS report in TEST (in the AX client) I got the following error: The %1 parameter does not exist on the report.

If I view the report in VS2010, I see that the parameter is present. If I check on the ReportServer, I see it is present.

Why is AX complaining about this parameter? Have you had this situation? What to do?

Best regards,

Linda

SyslastValues is a probabale reason . When you change a report to have another parameter and try to execute it

the syslastvalues are picked ,if any exist they are forced to be set to parameter , this will cause the problem generally.

general best practice is once you change the report and deploy remove the data in SYSlastValues and SRSreportQuery tables.

this will reduce half the problems face during report deployment in

    regards

    Hi,

You may also like to try restarting the reporting service, solves many problems.  I have the same problem on the Picking list report, ViewInventStyleId.  Open the report project in VS, refresh the datasources as this updates the report parameters.  Deploy and restart the reporting service.  The report then renders with no problems.

    Hi Linda,

I had faced a similar issue in the past but I was able to resolve it.

First open your report in Visual studio and check the properties that have been set for the parameters. If you have set the property "Allow Blank" to "True" then change it to "False", as this makes your parameter optional. Build you project and deploy the report.

However,  I would suggest that before you re deploy the report go to "Report Builder" and delete the existing version of your report ( this will not delete your customization from AX) and then deploy the report again.

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

I had similar issue, i was using a copy of existing report.

The following has fixed my issue.

Since it was a print management report, i had to update PrintMgmtReportFormat table and also "Report format" on Print management setup form to point to my new report.

For ex. AR > Setup > Forms > Form setup > Print management.

    Hi again.

I've found my error. CustAccountStatementExt is a print management report so I had to delete the report format associated to CustAccountStatementExt in the PrintMgmtReportFormat table. After that I redeployed the report and started working.

This post gave me the right approach.

    Thanks,

    Martín.

    Hi John

Unfortunately I've already tried redeploying the report.

I also tried cleaning the caches and generating CIL, but AX keeps showing same error.

I've noticed that after a full CIL generation AX shows the same error but in a different parameter.

    I'm running out of ideas...

    Thanks,

    Martín.

    Hi Martin,

I received this error on a report after upgrading to CU3.  I redeployed the report in AOT and the error went away.  If you have not tried that, it would be worth a shot as it is a quick process.

    Hi Linda.

    Did you found a solution?

I'm trying to duplicate CustAccountStatementExt report and I'm having the same problem. AX shows the same error and the parameter does exist in the report.

    Thanks!
