Hi Everyone,

I have a scenario, a user as created a sales order for an item for 100 pcs. But the available inventory is only 30 pcs. So the purchase department has raised PO for 70 pcs. The inventory also received the warehouse.

Now the question is, how the user who has created the sales order come to know about that the shortage of 70 pcs is available for shipment.

Please give us your thoughts.

Thanks,
I have the same question (0)

    There are two options:

    1. The purchasing department/warehouse can let the sales department know. They would notify them that the 70 pcs have been received.

    2. The sale department would keep looking at the inventory status in Business Central to verify if the 70 pcs are available or not.

when user creates a SO, user can use the fact box as below example to review available inventory of that item. user can drill into the number on the right for more detailed inventory info as well. this way, it helps to manage the SO and inventory.

Hi, the other two methods, use the function below to see inventory.

The second uses the action below to calculate how much more needs to be purchased.

    Hope this helps as well.
    Thanks.
