Security Filters on Reports

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 260

Greetings to all of you.

I have implemented a custom report ( id 50036 just for the reference ) and this report gets data from a table. (id  50039 just for a reference).

I want to limit what data a user can receive by running this report.

Due to that,I have set to the tabledata of 50039 , a security filter, for a specific permission set , to limit what users can see/filter on this report.

However , it seems that , whenever a security filter is applied on this tabledata, no matter what is the actual filter, the report does not allow the user to run it.

Even if i set a filter for example like the one below,

When the user tries to run the report and filters the code with the CORC*  value , the system still pops out the error message above.
Can anyone guess what's going on ? I check the code for the table and the report and there is no lines which handles or modifies the SecurityFiltering property.

yzhums  , since you seem to know about security filters ( i tried to follow your blog about those but couldn't find a solution ) , can you help ?!

Thank you all in advance for your time and your help.

Hi, very sorry for the late reply.

As I mentioned in the following post. When you create security filters, you limit a user’s access to data in a table. Therefore, code that requires access to all data in a table fails and the user receives an error message.

So you need to use SecurityFiltering::Filtered in your report.

    Hope this will help.

    Thanks.
