Planned orders not generated in Master Planning Periodic (but generated in Net Requirements)

Running AX 2012 R3 cu12...

We have products with demand that generate a planned order when we use:

Product information management > Common > Released products

From the released product on the Plan tab, click Net Requirements in the Action Pane.

If we click Update > Master scheduling then Planned orders are generated.

However, if we run master planning updates from Master planning > Periodic > Master planning, for the same product, planned orders are not generated.

Any ideas why this is happening?

    Hi J-AX,

We had a similar issue caused by incorrect BOM level and the way how these 2 procedures handle it. We installed KB 2983373 to fix it.

Also the item specific plan runs different focused logic, my question would be whether you actually need them or not. It can happen that an item is planned but in a full run because of demand and the structure it is not needed from the cascade down and related transactions.

Which one is right, then work out why!

    Hi,

I have the same problem. I deleted the production order where

item produced  is also in that production order's BOM, recalculated BOM levels and

i ran master planning  from Master planning > Periodic > Master planning, but the result is the same:

    planned orders are not generated.

    Do you have same advice?

    Thanks

I would post a new post and post screenshots of the detail - like the net requirements screen going negative and the coverage group configuration etc.

Hi Steven, it's a "normal" setup.

there is a safety stock for 15 PZ and if i run master scheduling from Net requirement form then planned order is generated, otherwise no (from Master planning > Periodic > Master planning). It's very strange.

    Thanks a lot

Create a new master plan, then run it from the periodic.

In our situation, we imported our products through DIXF as items (released products).  If we delete the released product, and re-release to the legal entity, then Master planning > Periodic > Master scheduling includes the item.

I've compared before and after, all fields are the same.  When the product is released, it must be create a data somewhere to include it in MP that the DIXF is not.

It will be one of the related tables like the ReqItem record or the InventTableModule etc.

The issue is with new table [ReqItemLevel] Introduced in CU12. This table contains data related to all products but somehow if you have used DIXF to create new released products the relevant information are not created for products in this table.

If you create Product manually then the products related data will be populated in this table.

To resolve the issue - Delete ReqItemLevel table completely and run your master planning without applying any filter on Item level. Alternatively you can create relevant records writing a x++ scripts. use method - insertReleasedItem() on table level for this purpose.

You're right , thank you for the solution :
