Hi People,
I have a requirement to change the order of the fields in a grid of a standard form. I don't see anything that can be done with the form extensions. Can anyone help me with it?
Saved views is an alternative for this. But, I believe, a particular view can't be made default view for all the users.
I am using D365FO PU36

Hi,
As you mentioned Saved view is to way to go and you can manage them at global level, have a look at docs.microsoft.com/.../saved-views
Thanks for the reply.
Does that mean they can't be managed at the form design level technically?

Correct, you can't change it via an extension.
You could hide the original fields and add new ones in the order that you want. This is possible with extensions. But, not very elegant.
If the UI offers what you want then why you want to change it in the design ?You can use personalization , moving column using four dots , make your grid like however you want and save that view. Saved views you can share for a specific role by legal entity and can be set as default view as well.
