Issue while working with Model driven apps within managed solution

Hi,

I am facing issue while working with Model driven apps within managed solution.

We were using a Managed solution with custom Model Driven apps, now we have requirement that we need to delete those apps from the client environment since we will not be using them anymore. So I deleted the Model driven apps and also deleted the respective sitemaps.

Now I thought if in future we get request to re-add those apps through the managed solution. So, I prepared managed solution with adding back previous apps and tried importing the Managed solution but it failed with error message as “An error has occurred. Try this action again. If the problem continues, check the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Community for solutions or contact your organization's Microsoft Dynamics 365 Administrator. Finally, you can contact Microsoft Support. : Microsoft.Crm.CrmException: An app can’t have multiple site maps.”

Do anyone have faced this kind of issue? It would be helpful if provide any assistance in order to resolve the same.

Thanks

    Hello,

Are importing or upgrading a solution?

If you are upgrading the solution this isssue is happening because the sitemap was deleted, so when upgrade your solution, it will update your appmodule. The system is trying to add another sitemap, and through exception because it's not allow 1 appmodule have 2 different sitemap.

As best practice the managed sitemap through UI.

To mitigate this what you could do is keeping the sitemap information in the database by Update your solution (uninstall you upgrade first and then reinstall the newer version with Update option).

    Hope this helps.

If needed you can open a service request with Dynamics 365 supporte team on https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com and refer this thread.
