Microsoft SL 2015 CU1: Asterisks ******* are sent over from Project Transaction Transfer to GLTran

Posted on by 5

Hi

I have a problem working with Microsoft Dynamics SL 2015 CU1. It´s related to module PA. I used PA.PTT.00 screen ( Project Transaction Transfer ) to divide a Project transaction in several ones. I relesed it correctly.

But when I went to see the gltransaction I saw one of the lines completed with "*" in many fields.

These error was reported for Microsoft Dynamics Sl 2011, as "Asterisks ******* are sent over from Project Transaction Transfer to GLTran for required fields (acct/sub/project/tasks) for 0.00 amounts"

Has anyone the same problem? And how did you solve it?

Thanks for help.

    Hello Patricia,

In CU2 is used "split transaction" and divided a labor posting to 3 separate subs rather than the one sub on the original transaction.

The only place that I saw any ***** is in the transfer screen itself when I was done splitting out the transactions. In GL the subaccounts are correct and are exactly what I changed them to.

    So I'd say apply CU2.

If you have some other way of reproducing your issue let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Jana MacDonald

    Good day -

We found bug 23651.  Reported on SL 2011.  Fixed in SL 2011 SP1.  We tested on current version, SL 2018 CU2 and the problem does not occur.    Please confirm this behavior is happening on new records entered in SL 2015 CU1. It is suspected that if your running a recent upgrade from SL 2011, you might be seeing old transactions created and effected by this bug in SL 2011, but we suspect new transactions in the newer version should not do this.

    Please let us know.

    Thank you,

    Carolyn
