It opens Outlook just fine and there's an attachment there, the problem is that the attachment is a .tmp file so it is unreadable by the recipient.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Devon

Correct, Outlook only, 32 bit version only.
So what your saying is we cant use Thunder bird to export emails.
Clint,
I think you meant to say that Microsoft Outlook is required, not Office.
Outlook is available as a separately from Office. Office Max/Depot/Staples/Wally Mart/Best Buy sells it for ~$120-$140. Their are multiple sellers of the Educational version to for much cheaper, but do the right thing and buy the retail version that's legit.
FWIW, several ISPs offer a free copy of Outlook if one is a business class customer of their Internet services. Check with them first before the purchase.
Hello,
Microsoft is currently in the process of re-writing the System Requirements page to mention this. Microsoft Office is required if you intend to export to email.
I use Windows Live Mail on Win 7 and the issue is still there. Rather than wasting my time researching why it won't work, I just go with the flow and export to a file and then attach the file to an email. It works great, and since you need to save it before it can become an attachment, it has the unintentional added benefit of the file being saved to your hard drive before you send it. As Marc says, the other option would be to use Outlook if you absolutely must be able to export directly to email.
Craig
Win 7 uses Windows Live Mail. I have not tried that with RMS.
The only workaround that I know of is to export the report to a file (HTML) and then manually send the email and attach the file. That should work with any email client.
Marc
Hi MarcR, we're using the Windows 7 version of outlook express ( they call it something different now ... don't remember what it is) Any workarounds you can suggest aside from switching email clients?
Are you using Outlook or Outlook Express for email? I never found a way to get RMS built-in email to work with Outlook Express, I got the problem you describe. Outlook, however , should work fine.
