Feature Enablement

ReportReport

Hi folks,

Has anyone enabled the feature 'In-App PDF conversion for Configurable Business Documents (CBD)' and it has messed up existing reporting configurations?  Which means when this is enabled PDF version does not follow the configuration instead splits the data into different pages.  Any fixes without  changing the format  again?
I have the same question (0)

Can you elaborate about the issue?

Please check if you have activated following features also, suggesting to activate them in your sandbox environment to check if it helps to resolve the issue:
Enable accessibility feature on report PDF files.
Enable auto-rotate for print preview on Report PDF viewer control.
Enable drill through links on Report PDF viewer control.
Enable Reload on Report PDF viewer

    Hi CU10061436-0,

Ideally, in-app PDF Conversion for configurable business document (CBD) as stated in the feature description uses the AOS services instead of external services. Its in-App converter has the ability to use only common Windows system fonts, if fonts aren't enabled. Page orientation and scale settings in Excel templates are by passed and not carried forward. Also, printer specific or external rendering behaviours are ignored by this feature.

    A few questions:
    1. Are the above settings like WIndows system fonts etc. being turned on?
    2. Are there any printer settings specifically setup for the ER Reporting in this case?

    Suggestions:
    1. Enable Worksheet specific orientation (ER destination settings for PDF conversion, set Page orientation to Worksheet specific. This ensure the orientation is defined in the Excel spreadsheets used in the template. Under Electronic Reporting -> Configurations in D365 Finance, select the ER Format that sendsthe respective output to Word or Excel files. Navigate to Destinations for that format and for file destination Check the Convert to PDF option. Expand the PDF Conversion FastTab, <Page Orientation -> Potrait or Landscape,Worksheet specific>, depending on whether you are sending your output to a document or a spreadsheet.
    2. Add the PDF convertor component in the ER Format configuration section. This gives more control over conversion and makes it easier to narrow down the issue in hand.
    3. Would recommend performing this step. Open the ER Format in Designer mode -> Format tree -> Add a new component of type PDF Convertor. Place the Excel/File component as a sub-component under the PDF Convertor. Ensure the format type is set to PDF or left blank and not explicitly defined. Would recommend testing the template output onto an Excel worksheet or a Word document.

Hope this helps. Happy to answer questions, if any.
