How to issue a 1099 to a person not previously set-up as vendor.

Posted on by 130

We made payments to a person using the Miscellaneous Checks feature in GP10.  I need to issue a 1099 to the person.  He is now set-up as a 1099 vendor.  I tried to enter amounts in the vendor period summary and in the 1099 details screens but the system would not allow me to enter any amounts.  How can I use GP10 to issue a 1099 for this person?

Thank you.  I feel like an idiot; I was in the inquiry screen instead of the actual card when I tried to enter the amounts.  All is good now, the 1099 has been printed and is out the door.

Make sure in the 1099 Details window that the display is set to 'Month' and not 'Year'.  You should be able to enter the amounts in the appropriate month.
