Prevent B2C user on B2B site - D365 eCommerce

Hi All,

When setting up a B2B e-Commerce site, the steps are detailed here:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/commerce/b2b/set-up-b2b-site

Once a business partner prospect is approved, they are to sign-up for an account on the website noted in Step 11. here:

https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/customer-registration-process-dynamics-commerce-d365-b2b-shahani

What is to prevent a user from navigating to the Sign-in/Sign-up page? Could a non-approved prospect not just navigate to the sign-in page and take the sign-up option?

"Additionally, if a B2C user does sign up, as he isn't linked to an approved prospect he will be treated as a retail customer. (No B2B specific features are available when he logs in)."

The final part of your response is actually what we would desire to happen. If a prospect is approved, they are able to have the B2B specific features and catalog prices, but if a prospect is not approved, we would like them to still be able to purchase from the site. However, it seems trying to have a regular B2C user on a B2B site causes site bugs. We actually have a support ticket in now because of this, and the same can be replicated on the test adventure work site.

    HI,

You can remove the sign-up option from AAD login page and only allow "approved" prospects to sign in by using custom sign in policies. The downside of this approach is that you have to manually manage new user creation.

Also, make sure that the authentication profiles used by the B2B and B2C sites are different to stop users from jumping from one site to another.

Additionally, if a B2C user does sign up, as he isn't linked to an approved prospect he will be treated as a retail customer. (No B2B specific features are available when he logs in).
