Database Size is around 200Mb

Model Database size is around 8GB

Base line Database is 1GB.

When I open Run AoS, it is taking long time start and the log shows like:

Starting “DynamicsAxModelDatabase”

Even when I open client also it is taking lot of time and the compilation and synchronization of Data could not able to complete

It is taking very long time almost, when I saw the log it is showing the following:

Starting “DynamicsAxModelDatabase”

My system configuration:

Intel core i3 2nd Generation

RAM – 8GB

Windows server 2008 R2

Please help to improve my system performance and use the application

Best Regards

Gowri

Add more RAM.  Minimum 16GB.  Much better would be 24GB.

You can confirm that more RAM is needed (before spending money) by monitoring the hard faults (paging) on the system while it is slow.  Launch the Resource Monitor, and on the Overview tab, Hard Faults/sec is the lowest graph on the right pane.

    Hi Gowri,

It looks like you are trying to install AX on a desktop or laptop? I do agree with Brandon that the resources are for sure not meeting the AX requirements. You can download the system requirements guide for your reference. An i3 processor is also not a winning configuration. Also look at the harddisk. The faster.... the better.

will the Model database size will be around 8GB?

RAM consumption is showing around 4.5 to 5GB in Resource monitor.

The model database can easily be around 8GB.

RAM consumption doesn't tell you the whole story.  When your computer is lacking in RAM, it uses the hard drive as a substitute for RAM (called virtual memory), but at a tremendous performance hit.  That's why you want to look for hard faults (paging), which is what the computer calls the act of swapping in and out memory pages from the hard drive.

In any case, 8GB is simply not enough to run SQL Server, the Dynamics AX Object Server, and the client all on the same machine.
