Grid Lines and white space in CRM 2013

Has anyone figured out how to ad grid lines to subgrids in CRM 2013? There is a lot of white space on records and we are hoping to use grid lines to show the different parts of records. I have been looking through blogs and this seems to be a system feature but if anyone has figured out how to make the form look less blank please let me know.

There isn't a setting anyplace to turn this on unfortunately so anything to actually modify how the form displays would end up being custom as well as most likely unsupported.

I think this can be done my modifying the CSS files.  We have a CRM 2013 installation and modified the CSS files so that all text boxes would have a light grey border around them, as we found the total white screens unfriendly.

The CSS files are on the server under /Microsoft Dynamics CRM/CRMWeb though you would need knowledge of HTML/CSS.

We have successfully used Tampermonkey and Chrome to do this for smaller teams.  Not ideal, but it does work, and older salesmen seem to really appreciate it:

I am trying to do a similar thing and reduce the crazy, wasteful amount of padding in the data grids. Does anyone know the exact css file and class(es) involved?  I'm having trouble finding them via the DOM inspector tools.

    Hi MitchellSilv and campbellcj,

thank you both for using Dynamics Communities and for your feedback. I can confirm that Jason’s answer is correct – as for now, there is unfortunately no setting to adjust the white space as per your needs and manipulating directly the CSS files is not supported. I would recommend you to provide insights for the current design to our development team by raising a Product Suggestion through our Connect page https://connect.microsoft.com/. Microsoft Connect is a platform and online solution that enables collaboration for gathering actionable feedback to improve and build the best in class products and services.

Thank you very much in advance – we appreciate very much your feedback.

Please let us know if this is helpful for you.

Thank you for using Microsoft Dynamics CRM Communities.
