ASM Transaction question

It has been brought to my attention that there is an extra transaction that no one ever researched here.

On ASM transactions, an extra line appears with the quantity of 1 and a random dollar amount.  The purchasing manager has always seen this and just made a manual transaction to fix this.

Has anyone ever seen this?

To add to this, I've looked at 2 tables:  IV30300 shows EXTDCOST of $33,603.03 and a quantity of 4957

But, table IV30301 shows two line for this - one with a quantity of 4956 and RCPTEXCT of $33,601.68 and a second line with a quantity of 1 and RCPTEXCT of $1.35

This happens a lot - and the second line always has different amounts.  Trying to make a screenprint of the report I have but I cannot paste it here.

Adding more info and hopefully, someone can guide me in the right direction!

For the situation shown above, I've got the following info:

    1.  BOM is entered with 4957 units at a total of $33,603.03               EXTDCOST

    2.  FIFO is used (FYI)

    3.  Line item detail shows 4956 units at an amount of $33,601.68     RCPTEXCT  (This shows $6.78 as current cost)

    4.  Extra line detail shows 1 unit at an amount of $1.35 which is the difference between $33,603.03 and $33,601.68

Why does this extra line with 1 unit appear?  We want all the units to go into inventory at one amount and have the difference go into a variance account.  The extra line is messing up inventory dollar amounts (but not quantity) and a manual adjustment has been made every month!

    Does this make sense?
