How to classify new account category?

We have added new account category in addition to the pre-defined ones.  However, the new account category is not associating with the account type, i.e. asset, liability, or Revenue, etc.  Does anyone know how to classify the new account category into the account type? Thanks.

    There is no way to do this within the GP interface.  The out-of-box 48 categories have a defined sort order based on this already.  Any account associated with a custom category will be list at the bottom of the associated reports.  General recommendation is to change the label on on of the standard 48 if it is not used in the organization in order to retain the sort order.
