Electronic Reporting - Definition of Data Types

Dear Experts

I have been trying to reverse engineer the data mapping of the following report and it is quite key understanding the difference between 

Container , Record List , Record , Calculated Field.

Is there any official guide on the Microsoft website where I can study these concepts?

    You can find the official documentation on MS docs.

    This site lists you the formula language and if you click the functions node on the left then you can see the different functions and elements.
