How to scan the licence plate during short pick using the warehouse app

Hi everyone,
 
If a worker is in front of a location to perform a picking work, but there is no stock, the worker would perform a short pick. 
In order to proceed, the system asks to scan the licence plate. How is it possible for the worker to scan the licence plate if there is no licence plate physically in the location?
 
Do you have any suggestion to avoid this step?

    Hi,
     
    System is asking for Licence plate as you would have defined location to be Licence plate controlled. 
     
    Since in this situation Physical stock is ZERO , you need to refer to System Stock and see what Licence plate is used there and same to be entered to complete short pick work.

    Hi, you can enable short picking by utilizing work exceptions in combination with license plate control locations. This allows for efficient handling of scenarios where the available inventory falls short of the requested quantity

    1. Navigate to Warehouse management > Setup > Work > Work exceptions.

    Create a new work exception code to define the short picking scenario.

    2. Define Short Pick Rules

    3. Assign Work Exception to Work Templates

    4. Assign Work Templates to Workers

    Setup: In the Warehouse Management Setup, locate the "Work Templates" section. This is where you configure the work templates that will define how picking tasks are performed.

    By implementing work exceptions and configuring short pick rules, you can efficiently manage short picking scenarios within license plate control locations in Warehouse Management.
