Looking for feedback on mobile solutions for NAV

I'm doing research for a couple of presentations and I am in need of feedback from other NAV end users.  Your feedback can be for any versions of NAV.

What does mobility for NAV mean to you?

What tools do you use to provide mobile connectivity to NAV?

Who in the organization uses those tools? (Warehouse, Sales, Service, etc.)

If you do not use any mobile tool yet, what would be your biggest questions surrounding NAV and mobility?

Thanks for the feedback!

Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 already have a client for tablets. Mainly people in the sales and warehouse uses mobile apps to access the system. Addition to that top level managers will use dashboards in order to get the top level information about the company.

In our company (ZILLIONe) we have our own mobile application which has integrated with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and it does have most of the functions built-in.

One issue we have is working in offline, this occurs when the mobile users works directly with the inventory since he might not get the latest inventory balance of the company.

As per my understanding NAV does not make any issue if you are planning to develop a mobile application because NAV itself support web services and allow third party application to access its own data.

If you are using NAV 2015, the best option (from my point of view) is the native tablet client, which is available for all platforms.

For older versions a used to install a 3rd party solution: http://www.mobilenav.hu/

It really depends on your needs, maybe your best solution can be an app connected through web services.

    Good luck! :-))

    Hi,

As suggested by Miguel, tablet client is a good choice if you are using 2015.

    Hi,

If we are talking about any NAV version, then try http://www.dynamicsmobile.com

The solution supports versions 3.6 to 2015, comes with predefined warehouse, sales and services modules and has no limitation regarding the device screen size (works on tablets, smartphones, HHDs, wearables, etc).

Besides, it is fully customizable and operates both in online and offline modes.

    BR,

    Danail
