Field showing the last activity type recorded on a contact

Posted on by 188

Looking for help to see if it is possible to automate a field to show what the last activity entity was recorded on the case. We have last activity date but wanted to see what activity type it was.. Any suggestions on how this can be done, if it can, would be much appreciated.

Thanks

    Hi,

Create new optionset field as show below -

Save and publish your changes. Now create new automated flow and select trigger as added on activity entity -

Condition - Regarding Type eq contact

I am mapping Activity Type from Actviity to Contact.

I would start by trying to create a power automate flow that triggers when a new activity record is created. Then get the contact record from the lookup field on the created activity. Then update the contact record w/ the activity type in the field you want.

I have not tried this but that's where I'd start. The one thing I'm wondering is if "activity type" is a field in the activity entity that can be accessed via flow. I imagine it is.
