Tracking Campaign Activities

Hi

I am trying to view campaign activities on the leads that have been contacted through the campaign.  I have set up a campaign to phone a marketing list with Test Lead 1 and Test Lead 2 as the members.  I have distributed the campaign activities and would have thought that when I viewed Test Lead 1 that the Activity would appear on the Lead page which it didn't.  I added a subgrid onto the Lead page and entered the following options -

Records: Only related records

Entity: Activities (Regarding)

Default View: All Activities

When I view Test Lead 1 now the new grid is still blank.  However if I click on the icon above the link that displays the records associated with the view then the Campaign Activity appears.  Is there a way for these records to display on the Lead page without clicking into the grid details.

    Brian,

When you select Activities(Regarding) in the sub-grid, CRM will get all activities where the 'regarding' field is this contact. However, campaign activities are related (regarding) to MarketingList not contact so those are not shown in the sub-grid.

Associated view is different from Sub-grid, they are fileted for this particular record (contact). Refer to the post below for the approach on how you can filter sub-grid

    Thanks Mamatha

I will try out the suggested approach and get back to you with the results.  Just in case I am on the wrong track - I would have thought that if you are running campaign and sending emails to a list of Leads that you would be able to see those Activities with the Lead without having to write javascript etc.  Am I missing something or am I going about the Campaigns the wrong way

    Brian,

    Two things here...

    1. Being able to see the emails distributed by a campaign in a lead record. CRM Shows this OOB in the associated view.

    2. Where exactly you want to see them (on form as sub-grid OR as associated records)?

As suggested earlier, sub-grids do not show the details as in associated view. You would need some coding to achieve the desired functionality.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for your help Mamatha.  The associated views will do the trick for the moment.  I had checked these previously but because of the default view they had been blank.
