Reverse journal entry - User S does not have access to reverse transaction type General journal.

I'm trying to reverse a transaction in D365 F&O. According to the security diagnostics the required duty to do this is called 'reverse transactions'. This has been added to the role in question, but when they try to do a reverse journal entry they get the error that they don't have access to reverse transaction type general journal. An alternate role with the same duty 'reverse transactions' can reverse it successfully. Any ideas what the issue could be?

Hi TAgnew .

If you are not able to achieve the reverse functionality through a functional approach due to access level security issue.

May be you can try this through a customization.

Hi TAgnew,

The duty you mentioned only has some access to transaction reversal related forms. When performing the reversal, there are multiple different types of reversal. For each of them, you would need to get permissions. There are privileges named e.g. Reverse ledger account transactions or Reverse customer transactions. The ledger reversal is part of the standard duty Maintain journals and transactions.

To solve your issue, you would need to add the Reverse... privilege(s) to your role, via a duty or privilege linked to it.
