Question on Legacy Capacity model vs New Capacity Model

Hi all,

I have question. We are still on the old capacity model and to be honest it the old model with add-ons seems alot cheaper than the new capacity. Especially when data base add-ons are 40 dollars per gig per month.

Question is if we add a few add-ons on the new capacity model can we use it simultaneously with the old model or will it move us instantly to the new model?

My preference is to have a hybrid at the moment.

Kind regards,

I have the same question (0)

RE: Question on Legacy Capacity model vs New Capacity Model

    Hey Mike.

This might be subject to review: depending on the number of user licenses and the number of environments, having legacy or having new storage model might be more beneficial.  However, you should be aware that upon renewal date the current Legacy subscriptions might not be able to renew, and you should purchase a new subscription, thus moving to the new storage model.

From the documentation on docs.microsoft.com/.../capacity-storage, if you purchase one of the new three storage add-ons (Common data Service Database Capacity, Common Data Service Log Capacity, Common Data Service File Capacity), you're automatically transitioned to the new storage report, so you should also consider that on that point, you'll be on the new storage model.
