VLookups for Data Conversion

Hi:

For data conversion using an Excel spreadsheet, utilizing the VLookup formula including ISERROR becomes useful.

I had a hard time working with such formulas today with one of the columns to be worked with had a mix of Text, General, and Number characters.

What are some ways of still getting great use out of VLookup when you have such a mix in one column?

Thanks!

John

just define the whole column as text type.
But this should be posted on Excel forum, not SME :)
