GP 2010 upgrade HR module

I did an upgrade to 2010 in a test environment. When I did the upgrade I forgot to include the HR module.

We only use the pay-codes and employee cards of the HR module for manufacturing purposes, but we still need it installed.

I installed the module, then went to Utilities to update the appropriate tables (the HR tables were not updated to GP 2010 yet since HR wasn't installed right away)

At the end of Validating Product Version Information progress bar, I get the error.

There was a problem ascertaining product version information. Microsoft Dynamics GP Utilities will now exit. Please check the duinstall.log file for more information.

 The duinstall.log file contains these errors. I cannot find any references to this error on customersource.

Failure encountered ON 5/21/2010 at 8:39:12 AM.  Error:  Product 414 does not support upgrading from version 10.0.1216.

 GP  runs again after uninstalling the HR module.

    Hi Joris,

    I can't find any info on an upgrade path for HR to GP2010. Perhaps you could try applying the latest HR service pack? As always do a complete back up first. I'll keep looking but so far haven't found any details on the upgrade path.

    Hi Joris,

    Your problem is the Human Resources module all right. This is not at a version that can be upgraded. Most likely you need to apply a service pack.

    Can you run the following query against MSSQL

    select * from dynamics..db_upgrade where prodid = '414'

    This will tell us the version that HR is at, and we can then see where it needs to go in order for the upgrade to work.
