How to configure the Morphx VCS Control System in AX2012 R3

Hi all the experts!

I was assigned to explore this option for our future developments , Im new on AX but I have a AX2012 R3 Test Server to my dissposal. But I harly found any information to setup this feature in DAX2012 R3. Can you suggest a guide? or a Steps?

Yeah , Ive been reading those articles but it didnt detail the proccess at all , information of the link is only the fist step. Actually we are doing some tests right now with 2 users. By far we got the basic understanding and working of the MorphX VCS Check-in and Out options , but the only thing we are missing is the Model version.

I assume considering working with a more advanced Source Control system is out of the question (cost of licensing, infrastructure, etc), right?

What do you mean by Model version?

The MorphX VC is a simple to setup and use Version Control system, allowing you to (only) manage versions of the objects changed by your developers.

Yeah , We are trying to figure out , if we have to invest on Fundation Servers or we can work with MorphxVCS.

By the other hand , In the Model List in the IDE you can see all the Current Created Models , and they had had version. Even if i add 2 or 3 proyects and Modify them to my Current Model in the AOT , my Model doesnt change its Version. You can see the Microsoft ones with 6.x.x.x. version number.

Thanks for the Information , Did you know what "Quality bar enforcement " feature is all about? I cant fin anything related to it.

I may venture a guess that it is referring to the fact that you can configure the Version Control to check for Best Practices at the time of Check-in and reject elements with BPs.

Thanks all for their replies , I was today tooling around with the VCS and we discovered some interested things and all of the basic functions. You can control the projects versions , object labels , protect the source code against unwanted changes of errors. We will continued investigating more about VCS

Hi guys

MorphX VCS is set up within the MorphX IDE, as follows:

Navigate to the IDE (Ctrl + D).

From the main menu, go to Version Control | Version Control Parameters (or press Ctrl + Shift + V).

Configure the form as shown in the following screenshot:

4.Press OK.

To make backup from MorphX VCS history , you can use 3 below table in sql server.

SysVersionControlMorphxItemTable

SysVersionControlMorphxLockTable

SysVersionControlMorphxRevisionTable
