We NEED ASAP a Solution - either Customization or SDK type that will allow AUTO GENERATED ITEM LOOK-UP NUMBERS in POS 2009. Each product is a one of a kind and each must have a unique number. We have thousands of items and can not be rememberiing the last number for every item as they come into the store. Think of this as a 'Consignment' type of business - but not truly.

There is an SDK on the POS 2009 Download page. Otherwise you might be looking at more of a 3rd party add-in option.

I see that no one answered this, and it just popped up when i was searching for a solution for something. If you still have not found a solution but are still that busy, you may want to look at switching to RMS instead because you can get that function for free.
