I am getting this very weird error with my reports "Web service request GetDataSources to Report Server failed. Error: The request failed with HTTP status 401".

Server A is Active Directory

Server B is SQL Server 2008 R2 with Reporting Services

Server c is CRM 2011 Application Server.

PLEASE HELP ME!! I am being struggling with this problem since weeks and weeks.

    Maybe this helps you: social.msdn.microsoft.com/.../web-service-request-getdatasources-to-report-server-httpsreportserver-failed-with

i have same problema and with this i resolved:

Aye - one of the things that MSCRM does when you upload an RDL file is look for the connection string in the report and replace it, which rules out using SRS Datasource objects.

The plus point to this is that you do not need to edit your Report between different MSCRM Environments as MSCRM will manage this when you upload the RDL file.

The negative point is this prevents you from using SRS Datasources, you must use a fixed connection string in the report itself such that the report is self-contained and not reliant on a separate Datasource object - otherwise you encounter an error on uploading the report to MSCRM.

You probably need to remove the Datasources from your Reporting Project, and give each report in the project it's own connection string to MSCRM by modifying the Dataset to use a connection string instead of a Datasource.

    Hope that helps.

    Hello,

Does the error occur for all reports(including default reports) or only custom reports?

What is the update rollup installed on CRM Server and Reporting server ?

Does the error occur when the report is run in SRS directly?

What is the error message that you see in the CRM UI ?

Any errors logged in event viewer on both CRM and SQL related to this issue ?

Does the issue occur for all users?

Check the SRS logs which would give more details about this issue from the below path :

    %programfiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\<SQL Server Instance>\Reporting Services\LogFiles

    Thank You.
