Final Destination

Posted on by
We have customers that want to send us a DC/Cross Dock as the delivery location of an order, however they also have a Final Destination Store that they ultimately want on the GS1-SSCC128 label. Does anyone know of any inheirent features/functionality to handle this in D365?

There's no functionality for this out of the box.  I've seen this done two ways in the past for clients:

1.) Add an "Internal Organization" from Org Admin -> Organizations -> Internal Organization to the Sales order header or line that corresponds to your customers final destination store #.  Create an internal org for each of their stores, and an internal org can have an address.  Configure your wave labels / SSCC labels to pull this data using standard advanced filters on the wave label layouts, join up to the Sales order -> internal Org -> Get the address.

2.) Add a "final destination" address to the SO header or line.   Have your customer pass this in when sending in new sales orders.  Same thing, configure your wave labels / SSCC labels to pull this data.

In either scenario, I suggest you also do a small mod to pass this down to the standard "Third Party" address on the bill of lading.

    Hi,
There are no such standard features out of the box, but you can achieve this by extend or edit the standard application identifiers, as the official documentation says:
Each application identifier signals to the system that subsequent characters in the scanned bar code should be considered a block of encrypted information. The setup of the application identifiers defines how the system should interpret a bar code and save it as a value in the system.

Logistics managers can use standard international application identifiers and/or create their own.

    Best regards,
    Kevin
