Starting today, when entering a sales order, we are getting this error message after we enter a line item.

Default Dimension Priorities are not defined for Source Code: SALES

Was there an update that made this become a thing and what is it used for?

Yes to avoid conflicts like the one you are experiencing it is mandatory to do so.

Is it mandatory to set up default dimension priorities? What if there is no dimension value code - is there an error when posting the transaction? i.e. when creating a purchase order, I received this error - when I checked the Default Dimension Priorities, there is no priority defined, so how does it know what to post it to?

I have the same issue and the Notification related to Default Dimension Priorities is disabled. Any idea why I get the notification or warning message?

Hi, I tested it and it seems to be ok.

I think the more likely ones are the following. (Not all)

    Location

    Hi Zhu,

I get this notification pop up as soon as I create a new sales order and select a customer. I haven't yet added any item on the line. So, I am not sure what dimension values are being compared in this case?

    Thanks

Hi, You can disable this setting in My Notifications. This will not prompt on the screen.

Popped up on our system today too.  We would like for it to go away completely as we do not want to use these.  Any ideas on how to make it go away?

Hi, In my environment, it's just a notification. not an error.
This prompt will appear when you have the same Dimension set in your master data, but their Dimension Values are different.

For example, on the order, both the customer and the Item set the Dimension of Area, but their values are different.
